Now she runs a multi-million dollar business, as founder and CEO of AMB Credit Consultants. Her transformation came when she told God that if she turned her life around she’d help others. She now shares financial literacy tips at her blog Luxurious Credit.

Credit card debt is crippling and once in it, it’s hard to get out.

Arnita Johnson was a single mom who got to the point where she had so much credit card debt she had no money to feed herself or her baby. Now she runs a multi-million dollar business, as founder and CEO of AMB Credit Consultants.

Her transformation came with divine inspiration. One day, in exasperation, Arnita told God that if he helped her out of her mess, she would use her experience getting out of debt and the money she made to help others.

Now married, with four kids including young twins, she shares financial literacy tips at her blog Luxurious Credit in addition to running and growing AMB Credit. She shares with Melinda Wittstock on WINGS valuable tips for women and entrepreneurs to manage their money and grow their businesses.

Here are some of Arnita’s tips for entrepioneering women:

• Save Money: Start by saving a little bit at a time, and ask your friends to give you supplies or finance for your business instead of clothes or jewelry.
• Little By Little: Start small, and keep going. Baby steps are better than no steps, or jumps so big you fall.
• Money is a Mindset: Money is not the end in itself; it is not a “thing”. It’s simply the measure of the value of a good or a service exchanged. If you pursue money for money’s sake, it often doesn’t come to you. But if you create value for others, you’ll have more than you ever thought possible.
• Ask For Help: Arnita’s father helped her raise her kids as a single mom when she was growing her business. And ask for help in business too: “Women don’t ask for help because they …have a fear of being found out…but someone has to now the insides of what we do,” she says.
