Britt Stromberg is a creative marketer with a 25-year background in advertising, brand development, market research, and content strategy for consumer retail and technology companies. She’s a writer, editor, teacher and public speaker about the fundamentals of brand building and an advocate for gender parity in the business world.
Britt runs Underwire Media, curated insider info for female founders at www.underwire.works. She’s also the founder and principal strategist at Brand Blocks, a brand and market launch consultancy that helps startups and mid-sized business with the marketing fundamentals to gain traction and secure funding.
Britt is also a skilled facilitator, having led hundreds of corporate work-sessions to build consensus among internal teams in support of brand initiatives that align cultural values and missions with consumer behaviors.
Previously, Britt co-founded States of Matter, a branding agency in Seattle, WA. She directed the development of brand strategy, brand identities, websites, packaging and environmental experiences, and oversaw qualitative and quantitative market research for startups and mid-sized companies in the consumer and technology markets. Britt has broad experience in positioning companies in the retail, outdoor, gaming, coffee, peer-to-peer services, fashion, and luxury and consumer packaged goods industries.
Britt was also Creative Director for Rivet & Sway, an ecommerce fashion retail startup for women, where she managed a team of in-house creatives and vendors responsible for product development, online marketing, events and PR. In less than a year, she built a luxury consumer brand with a loyal customer following that helped to secure funding for seed raises.
From 1996 to 2012, Britt was the CEO of Wordslinger, Inc., a brand consultancy providing marketing and business strategy, creative direction and development, content strategy, copywriting and naming to clients such as Intel, Microsoft, Hershey, Merck, Pepsico, Frito-Lay, Getty Images, Starbucks and more than 100 startups in the consumer and tech space.
Britt started her career in advertising working at DahlinSmithWhite (EuroRSCG) and McCann-Erickson on technology accounts such as Intel, Iomega, Cisco, Sybase, Bay Networks and Texas Instruments. In 1994, while at McCann-Erickson she contributed to the creation of the agency’s inaugural digital team.
