Kaaren Whitney Vernon knew something was up when her teenage boys were no longer leaving empty pizza boxes in the TV room.

They were on YouTube.

Longtime marketing visionary and pioneer of marketing to millions of Millenials for brands like Coca Cola and L’Oreal, Kaaren knew there was opportunity in YouTube the big brands and marketers were not recognizing.

Last year Kaaren sold shift2 to Shaftsbury, where she is now SVP of Branded Entertainment. Kaaren is also President of the North American chapter of the Branded Content Marketing Association – where true to the spirit of the girl I knew in High School, she’s challenging traditional marketers to re-imagine how to market in a world where consumers are in the drivers’ seat.
