- Authenticity Rules: You cannot be an influencer without knowing your true purpose and mission and walking your talk. Here is Theresa’s definition of authenticity: “Authenticity is your inside voice saying the same thing as your outside voice. In other words, what you’re thinking and what you’re saying and doing are in alignment.”
- What Limited the Child Can Inspire Personal Growth: We talk about what motivated Theresa to become an expert in influence, and trace it back to 3 year old “Tessie”. We all have limiting beliefs we learned in childhood, and as we face and overcome the limits we can be more authentic – the key ingredient of influence.
- Your Beliefs Dictate the Results: If you believe it will be hard, it will be hard. When out raising capital or negotiating a big deal or sale, visualize and expect what you want. When you assume the best of others they are more likely to respond accordingly. Teresa: “When you walk into the room with, “This is going to be tough,” you create that energy around you. When you walk into the room with, “I'm so brilliant, I am going to see the projects to pick up that aren't tough, and I am actually going to help create the projects that aren't tough, and this is all going to be easy, like floating downstream,” then a mind shift happens for everyone in the room. Because if you walk into, “I'm going to create that this is easy,” then a different conversation ensues.”
