Technology entrepreneur Silvia Pfeiffer has lead the way in web video innovation, and turns her original passion to be a doctor to the telemedicine space with Coviu, the video platform she cofounded and is now scaling as its CEO. We talk venture capital and challenges for women in tech.
Silvia Pfeiffer was going to be a doctor – until the blood she saw made her faint.
Medicine’s loss was technology’s gain and Silvia has been an innovator in web video technology for almost two decades.
Now she combines both passions with Coviu, a telemedicine video conferencing platform that is now one of the forces changing health care and medicine as we know it.
We talk what it’s like for women in technology and the “bro culture”, how the landscape is changing, and what it takes to raise venture capital.
Silvia says it’s vital to have stability and security in your home life before you take on the entrepreneurial journey – particularly a supportive partner or husband. The other vital piece of “go to” advice: Take care of yourself! Eat healthy, exercise and take breaks to care for yourself and just have fun.
